This week has flown by. Another busy week for Team Pharma. 2012 is now well and truly in full swing and we are working very hard on new vacancies with new and existing clients.
We are working with a client based in picturesque Cambridgeshire to find an experienced CRA to join their team in a unique working environment. This is no ordinary CRA role. This opportunity will offer the chosen candidate the chance to take on extra responsibilities in a varied role. The position could combine the responsibilities of a CRA and Project Manager with a hint of Quality and Regulatory exposure thrown in. This CRA role is far from ordinary.
If this is exactly what you are looking for, you do not want to miss this opportunity. Get in touch to find out more.

NHS statistics have shown that eye tests in England fell by 3.2% between April and September last year.
London and the West Midlands showed the largest decline.
As an optometrist have you felt these declines in eye test? Are you worried that people are missing out on vital tests? With the introduction of free eye test vouchers and reduced eye test vouchers on popular coupon websites, you would have thought that eye tests would have increased. However the General Ophthalmic Services Activity Statistics document also revealed the number of optical vouchers issued over the same period fell from 2.3 million to 2.1 million year-on-year.
Please let Flame Health know your thoughts.

Dr Julie Gandolfi, founder of Driving Research Limited has reported that Optometrists have a vital role to play in raising awareness in older patients about the need to self asses their driving abilities.
Dr Gandolfi described Optometrists as the ‘acceptable face to older drivers of their need for self-management’, she added: “Although there are a few people who neglect to monitor their eyesight as they progress through their driving careers, for the most part people are quite aware they do need to.”
As an optometrist do you take this into consideration? Do you work alongside older patients on a daily basis and discuss the issues of driving at an older age? How do you approach such topics? Flame Health are keen to know how you go about this subject.

Are you one of the many pharmacists or pharmacy managers who are having issues with the EPS 2?
A whopping 90% of readers of C & D who conducted the poll reported problematic issues with the new system. Only 5 out of the 50 readers said that they had no issues with the upgrade.
If you have had issues with the upgrade, what were they? Have they been rectified? Are the issues coming from a GP practice? Do you feel you have had sufficient training on the upgrade? Please let Flame Health know.

There was disappointing news in the Pharmacy world this month as hundreds of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians missed out on the GPhC renewal deadline, resulting in fines of £486 for Pharmacists and £297 for Pharmacy Technicians.
The GPhC are urging a new universal registration deadline to be set by the Government instead of the usual rolling deadline register, whereby renewal occurs on the anniversary of their registration date.
As a Pharmacist what are your thoughts on this? Have you been affected by the renewal deadline? Would you like to see more flexibility in the registration process? Please let Flame Health know your thoughts.

After reporting last week on whether Pharmacists can give GP’s a helping hand with long term illness patients, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) conducted a survey to show that Pharmacists should promote exercise in the over 55s.
The results showed that almost a third of patients over 55 felt that long term illnesses were an obstacle for exercise.
Flame Health are keen to speak to Pharmacists on their thoughts to this. Would you be inclined to help and support patients? Do you do encourage older patients to exercise already? Please let Flame Health know.
