End Of Cycle CPD is Looming for Dentists

The General Dental Council (GDC) is calling on dentists to submit their annual or end of cycle continuing professional development (CPD) declarations by 28th January 2011.

To remain registered to practice dentists must complete 250 hours every five years, of which 75 must be verifiable. Records need to be kept for five years after the end of their cycle, as these maybe needed for audit purposes.

Dentists who do not meet the deadline will be contacted and asked to send their full CPD records to verify that they have met the GDC’s requirements. If a dentist does not comply with this request, they will face being removed from the register and lose the right to practice in the UK.
